Hello Sons!!! Happy October!!
It’s been a great week. I participated in an event at Post 35 last Saturday. Participation was incredible and money was raised for the Sons Charities. Thank you to all those that reached out and wished me well on my birthday! It was much appreciated and I was able to spend time with my Grand Kids.
This weekend I’m heading to Indianapolis for the Fall NEC. I’m really looking forward to attending the meeting and learning as much as possible. So many opportunities to make new connections and strengthen others. I am joined on this trip by 3 PDC’s. Current NEC Chris Balsley, Alt NEC Gary Manwell and Membership Director Ed Cleary. We all have meetings to attend and learn things to bring back to share with Detachment.
Let’s really make an effort to do a buddy check day this month and get membership moving. Goal is 35% by Oct. 14th. Let’s see how far past this mark we can get! If you need help with membership please reach out sooner rather than later. We can do this if all work together.
Please remember PNC Jeffrey Frain and his family in your prayers. His Celebration of Life is being held on Oct. 11th at 3PM. Post 27 is the host post. Please mark your calendars for this date and plan on attending the Celebration of Life of PNC Frain. Oct. 10th I will be attending a car show at Post 34 with PDC Lucas, we hope to see you there. Also that day I will be making my way to Western Romp in Florence, Az. Then later that day I am attending the Celebration of Life for Judy Beischel.
In closing, please remember the 2 challenges for National Commander Thom Skelley. The 1st is the 4 Pillar Squadron Award. I challenge your Squadron to qualify for this Commanders Award. The 2nd challenge is to have a POW/MIA table or Poster placed at a restaurant. If you have any questions please reach out to myself or one of the Vice Commanders or our Adjutant.

As Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 107, I have been privileged to work on several projects designed to promote the values, traditions, and mission of the American Legion Family through music and community outreach, as we discussed during your visit. As part of this effort, I have written and produced a collection of original songs and accompanying videos that celebrate the spirit of service, sacrifice, patriotism, and fellowship that define our organization. These projects are intended to honor our veterans, inspire future generations, and showcase the positive impact the American Legion Family has on our communities. These songs include themes such as “I Am The One,” inspired by the Be the One campaign to help prevent veteran suicide, as well as songs honoring our Legionnaires, Riders, Auxiliary, Sons, and those we remember through the Seven O’Clock Toast.
